I came across this exterior image yesterday on Pinterest and was stopped in my tracks.  I followed the web trail to find it is the new home of one the Atlanta designers I most admire.  This incredibly unique and chic home featured in Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles must be shared. A MODERN MOVE

Architect Yong Pak of Pak Heydt & Associates worked with the Kleinhelters on their Dutch meets West Indies abode. Custom cement pavers create an equally stunning front pathway.

Kevin and Lee Kleinhelter, alongside 5-year-old son Holden and golden retriever Rider, lounge around their labor of love—a 4, 160-square-foot Brookwood Hills showstopper the design-minded couple built from the ground up.

Custom windows built by Kevin’s company, K2 Construction, open onto the outdoor patio overlooking the nature preserve just beyond the backyard.

Nature meets nurture as floor-to-ceiling metal windows welcome the neighborhood’s canopied backdrop into a pair of expertly tailored indoor and outdoor living rooms.

Black-and-white veneered cabinets continue the space’s seamless movement, finished with a grouping of four vintage Lucite and brass stools.

The main level employs an open floor plan that’s unified with black grasscloth, floor-to-ceiling iron-trimmed windows and a midcentury, brass-accented dining table.

Small changes make dramatic differences—like vaulting the hallway ceiling on the third floor.

Bold punches of orange filter through Holden’s bathroom and bedroom, where unused space above his built-in bunk beds was transformed into a rock-climbing room Lee admits is fun for all ages.

One of Lee’s favorite rooms is the custom walk-in closet, complete with custom black cabinets and brass T-bar hardware; the ceiling is equally as showstopping, thanks to art deco GP&J Baker wallpaper.

White, black and brass accents preside over the master bedroom and bath; cabinets don vintage hardware sourced by Lee.

On the terrace level, a custom table tennis set, abstract artwork by daughter Madison and relaxed-yet-refined furnishings bump this family-friendly hangout up an extra grade.

Circular glass pendants make a dramatic statement in the stairwell and can even be admired from the exterior windows.

The sunny guest room on the home’s lower level remains bright, thanks to bursts of yellow that pop against textured walls, and a polished bathroom that positively shines.
