I am thrilled to share a project that was presented to me this week. It is a welcome respite to all the furniture and things that I am trying to get organized from High Point Market to share with you.

I am loving Tamara Magel‘s gorgeous new project at One Fifth Avenue in NYC.

It actually makes me crave a minimalist lifestyle

One of the very few isolated skyscrapers in NYC, One Fifth Ave. is a prestigious rarity that dominates lower 5th Avenue and has become a landmark of the Washington Square area, one of the most famous and culturally significant neighborhoods.

A young power couple with a background in finance and real estate purchased the unit as their first home together with their new baby. The dwelling was originally owned by an older couple and while it still had an upscale approach, it was filled with dark, outdated artwork, furniture, and floral tapestry. While scouring Pinterest for farmhouse chic but glamorous style inspiration, the wife, stumbled upon some of Tamara’s projects and fell in love with her signature style. Tamara’s talent and expertise drove the project and made the couple’s dream home a reality. Tamara completely renovated and updated the apartment from the ground up. She added chic herringbone floors, one of the most influential changes to the apartment, and complimented it with classic black trim, luxurious white walls, and incredible artwork commissioned by her long-time friend Peter Brockman.

The most important aspect of the renovation was the dining room. The couple loves to entertain and desired a space where they could accommodate guests for parties and gatherings. Beautiful blue velvet chairs from the leading modern furniture designer, Milo Baughman, are a show stopping feature that sets the tone for the area. The jewel box of a room also features a round lacquered table with a 6 chair dining set that can be expanded to fit 12 perfect for any occasion. Lindsey Adelman, one of the most in-demand lighting designers in America, designed the one-of-a-kind glass blown chandelier that sits over the table adding a unique and personal touch to the dining room

The 1940’s Noniti purple velvet chairs are the key feature that brings the living room together. With the addition of a marble coffee table and grey sofas the living room becomes a haven for lounging and relaxing.

The bathroom was fitted with a smooth white and black marble custom made sink and accented with an antique gold faucet.

The couple’s bedroom is a flawless combination of masculine and modern while still being glamorous enough for a woman. This room is where the urban farmhouse chic style really comes into play. One of the most eye catching pieces is the $8, 000 silver fox duvet cover that drapes across the bed. Centered above the bed, on the black accent wall, is a French lettered brass frame featuring Brockman’s art. Tamara’s own furniture line made an appearance in the elegant gold side table.

The stunning dressing room contains the same white and gold accents as the bathroom with the addition of a stylish rug and white pouf stool at the vanity.
