I have VERY exciting news to share!
I am participating in the The 2017 Annie Selke Rug Design Challenge!
I cannot wait to share this process with you.
It is time to flex those creative muscles.
I have been playing with designs and have over 40 ideas started…I guess I better start narrowing it down. yet the options are endless!
Read all about it below, along with my fellow designers participating.
Dash & Albert Rug Company, founded by Annie Selke, the Massachusetts-based design visionary, has teamed up with Apartment Therapy Media, the popular online destination committed to helping people create a happy and healthy home, on the first-ever Annie Selke Rug Design Challenge.
The Challenge, to start on July 6, 2017, will consist of 15 digital influencers within the design and home décor space, submitting rug designs that are reflective of their personal design aesthetic for a chance to have their rug come to life by Annie and her team. The designs will be posted on the Annie Selke Instagram page (@AnnieSelke), where the public will cast their vote as to which designs they would like to see made available for purchase. The 10 designs that receive the most votes between July 6 and July 20 will be entered in to production, and then sold online by Dash & Albert, an Annie Selke Company.
The digital and social media influencers with the winning designs will be documenting their design experience on their own social media channels with content including a behind-the-scenes look in to what it takes to bring a design on paper to real life. From the design process, to choosing materials and colors, to the actual production, and finally making the rug available for consumers, the influencers will be documenting each step throughout the year-long production process.
Fans will also be able to follow along on Apartment Therapy, which will be giving readers a step-by-step look in to the overall design process.
The challenge will culminate in an event at High Point Market hosted by Annie Selke with Maxwell Ryan, Founder of Apartment Therapy Media, alongside the winners of the competition, whose designs will also be on display.
