I am oddly drawn to all shades of blues these day.
It generally is the favorite color of most of the world but, I have always been an orange or purple gal.
Here are some recent blue crushes starting with Matthew Quinn’s Kitchen from Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles
An arched window above the sink references the classical roots of this historic home and looks out onto a courtyard and three-story addition by Ladisic Fine Homes. Here, traditional materials blend beautifully with innovative design features. Timeless Calacatta Gold marble gets a modern upgrade with a waterfall-style island fabricated by Construction Resources.
“We gave the homeowners the function of a large kitchen by incorporating smart design and storage selections while still paying homage to the architecture and legacy of the home.” —Matthew Quinn
Next up the blue-green ladies office by Margaret Kirkland is a beauty!
“With so much cabinet storage—and a dedicated surface for organization—life also feels civilized and orderly,” says Kirkland of this chic office space. Farrow & Ball’s Castle Gray anchors the space and sets the tone for a remarkably refined palette that still leaves room for a dose of whimsy in the form of the Kate Spade for Kravet wallpaper artfully alluding to a collection of books in a library.
Phoebe Howard always leans toward her favorite hue in the family room
Architect Yong Pak and builder Michael Ladisic added interest to the family room addition through subtle architectural details such as shiplap planks placed on both the vertical and horizontal, and separated by chair rail molding.
