Malibu Barbie Dream House

Calling all  BARBIE GIRLS… I never played with Barbie much as a child.  As an adult, I hate to say I have watched my fair share of Barbie movies and played lots of Barbie over the past week. Our family vacation was wonderful but, back to real world… Inspiration comes in the strangest places. I remembered this amazing house designed by Jonathan Adler for Mattel in celebration of Barbie's 50th year.  It is wild and FUN.  It should cheer up a Monday! Watch the guided Youtube tour HERE.    Jonathan Adler…the mastermind behind this home. I love the pink poodles… Artwork made of Barbies Barbie's...

Nacho and Nathan

Another highlight of my Los Angeles adventure was to meet Nathan Turner, of Million Dollar Decorators fame.  He is so friendly, warm and easygoing.  The shop is brimming with fabulous exotic finds.  I bought a bright fuchsia suzani for my bedroom. He has amazing photography by Oberto Gili and Amber Arbucci. All his inventory can be seen on 1st Dibs.  Check it out! I went to his shop to see my friend, Jane Scott Hodges of Leontine Linens, at her trunk show hosted by Nathan. Leontine is the best of best in linens.  More on Leontine Linens to come soon! Nathan's new shop on Melrose.  I love this orange monogram. Of Course! This is a...

Ruth and Hutton’s Hideaway

I posted a few weeks ago about Hutton and Ruth Wilkinson's beautiful new home.  I included all the pictures from the wonderful Harper's Bazaar article.  I sent my post to Hutton whom I had met in Charlotte a few years back.  I was so flattered to be invited to his home last Sunday for a Tea.  It is a memory I will cherish.   Hutton and Ruth were the most warm and gracious hosts. We snacked on homemade tea cakes and cookies.  The tea was supplemented by divine Champagne. The glasses and serving pieces were all sublime, Wedgewood majolica and coral teacups.  I was in heaven.  Many of the fabrics, lighting, rugs and...
