10 Questions for the Sisterhood of the World Blog Awards

Sarah Sarna, blogger extraordinaire,  announced that she had been nominated for the Sisterhood of the World Blog Awards (SOWBA) by Design Chic a few days ago.  Sarah shared her list of 10 nominees, of which I am one. Woohoo! Thank you Sarah!

I am trying to get out of the heat for a few weeks and work from my mountain house starting today so lost to day.  Apologies on the delay!

A Sisterhood of the World Blog Award nomination means I now answer Sarah’s 10 questions, select 10 new bloggers, and ask them my own 10 questions. I interview artists in my Artist Spotlight Series constantly but this great way to get to know my blog friends a little bit better.

1. What celebrity are you said to resemble?

Carrie Underwood…I got it a few times when she was on American Idol…not now sadly.

2. If you could pick any designer, living or dead, to decorate your house, who would it be?

David Hicks. He was the original mix master. His mix of antiques with bold textiles and modern art was spot on and groundbreaking at the time.

3. If you won the lottery, what’s the first thing you would do?

Buy a ranch with loads of animals…then share some too.

4. Your favorite room of your house and why?

My new Ping Pong Emporium of course!

5. If you could rewind ten years and give yourself one piece of advice, what would it be?

When you have a prickly feeling in that initial consultation..run, run fast.  It is just not worth it to take any job if you get ‘that feeling.”

6. What’s the worst haircut you’ve ever had?

A short, short shag in 5th grade.  It grew out to be a poodle / afro for a LONG time.  No short hair for me EVER.

I recently, last fall, decided I wanted to go red… that did not pan out either!

Evidence.(and humiliation) in a 48 hour period no less.

7. What is your favorite little luxury?

Good Chardonnay. Kistler, Rombauer, DuMol. Big and Buttery are how I like em’.

8. Name a song that often gets stuck in your head.

Sadly,  Sir Mix -A -Lot , I Like Big Butts…It is a family joke.

9. Pick an all time favorite book that you think we should all read.

Making the Mummies Dance by Thomas Hoving.  A fascinating read on the art/ museum world.

I was also mesmerized by Under the Banner of Heaven by Jon Krakuer

10. Every one has them: what is one of your guilty pleasures?
