Last week, I introduced you to the One Room Challenge headed up by Calling It Home.
This is a semi-annual event where 20 bloggers, made up of Professional Designers, Diy’ers, and Interior Design Bloggers, transform a room from start to finish. For the next six Wednesday’s, we will be giving you updates on our room progress.
Here is my WEEK 1 post where you can see my disaster of a home office and my to do list. This week I do not have a huge amount of progress to report other than I have a real plan for this room. I find it is important to come up with all the large aspects for any room you are planning first. Things to consider always are: Walls- paint or wallpaper Lighting- lamps and ceiling Flooring- carpet, area rugs, hardwood, tile, etc… Window Treatments- curtains, blinds, shades, etc… Furniture- how much seating do you need? What is the main focus of this room? Furniture Plan- Always lay out your plan to be sure your items will fit. If you do not want to draw it out just use masking tape in the room. I then fill in with artwork and accessories which are equally important but, can be step 2. Here are the choices I have nailed down this far.
Wallpaper – Thibaut Tanzania in Tangerine
Light Fixture – Robert Abbey Penelope Pendant in Orange
Bookshelves – CB2 Array Yellow Bookcases
Lamps – Lamps Plus Tender Shoots Apothecary Table Lamp
Roman Shade Fabric – Spoonflower Holli Zollinger Elephant and Umbrella Pop
Seat cushion Fabric – Pindler & Pindler Sharma in Mango
Desk Chairs – PB Teen Furlicious Airgo Chair
Paint for Bookshelves – Benjamin Moore 364 Citrus Burst
much more to do, decide and execute…The final reveal is November 6th.
Here are the lucky participants on this ORC. Be sure to check out their weekly progress too.
See you next Wednesday with more updates.
