Instagram lead me down another rabbit hole.
I found Elizabeth on Instagram and knew her super chic gypset jewels must be shared. I reached out to her and purchased 2 indian chief necklaces sight unseen. I could not be more in love with my new pieces. and they will be perfect for my trip to Mustang Monument next week.
Los Angeles, California
What is your training?
After a decade working in the fashion industry for luminaries like Ralph Lauren and Tom Ford, I launched Elizabeth Sayles Jewelry in 2007 with an eye to marry the opulence and attention to detail I loved in my grandmother’s collection with a modern edge.
What inspires you and your designs?
A lot of it has to do with moving to southern california and taking my classic New England taste and mixing it with bohemian elegance
What is your favorite piece?
My hand carved semi precious Indian & hawk necklaces
(these are my indian heads in lapis and labradorite)
How has the your area influenced your work?
I first moved from New England to San Francisco. San Francisco is extremely sophisticated like the east coast whereas LA is more about bohemian glamour. LA has been my home now for over 13 years and I have definitely embraced that style. I like to call it Malibu-chic or rich hippie. Lol.
What is your favorite restaurant in LA?
What is your favorite cocktail?
How do you balance personal life and work?
I don’t… I try to work 15 hour days monday-thursday and friday through sunday I try to get out of the city and stay in Malibu.
Your favorite host / hostess gift to give?
I love to give elegant candles in either an amber or fig scent. I tend to lean more towards masculine scents as there is a warmth to them.
Who is your style icon?
and Paiman Salimpour (a dear friend – @paimansalimpour)
Your favorite up and coming artist?
Not up and coming but I have to say Damien Hirst
What is your most treasured possession?
Cobalt blue antique apothecary jars with hand painted red tops that I spent way too much on in Paris four years ago
What are you reading?
What are you listening to?
What are your favorite blogs / publications?
My favorite publications are Harpers Bazaar
I am not a vogue girl
ES BY ELIZABETH SAYLES reworks one-of-a-kind antiques that I cull from estate sales, flea markets and dealers around the world. Each piece in this unique collection tells a story both of the time in which it was crafted and the owners who cherished it.
THE ELIZABETH SAYLES COLLECTION brings the glamour of the Gilded Age to contemporary fine jewelry. Wear these delicate and distinctive pieces alone or layered with my other collections day and night.
HARLOW BY ELIZABETH SAYLES infuses current fashion trends with inspiration from the past. This collection is a little bit vintage, a little bit rock n’ roll.
Here are a few of my favorite Elizabeth Sayles’ pieces…
This opal and turquoise beauty is certainly on my wish list.
