Another Wonderful Weekend…
A wonderful weekend…
A client decided on this beauty for her entrance hall. It is called "Whisper of Okeechobee" by Ruth Ava Lyons. I am a huge fan of her work . She is a Charlotte artist represented by Hidell Brooks Gallery. I love her use of color and metallics in the loose abstract floral landscapes.
Friday night we went to a dear friend and clients pink themed 40th birthday party. The food was divine by Porcupine Provisions…the best in Charlotte. The flowers were the star, beyond the beautiful birthday girl. They were done by the guest of honors mother. She is amazingly talented. All my favorite flowers were represented. No pink detail was overlooked.
Pink peonies ready to pop open on the lovely dining room.
Saturday morning Gigi negotiated a trip to target post soccer and pre baseball. She NEEDED this toy. I am old and worn down.
My mother requested me to come pick some Lily of the Valley, a favorite flower of mine. Her garden is starting to take off for the season.
Clematis
The pagoda with rose in front of it about to start abundantly producing flowers.
a pretty pink camellia
This orchid has been blooming since before Christmas. I do not have her green thumb sadly.
I rarely go in the living room at my parents. I love the portrait of my mother and I from 35 years ago. The house I grew up in was designed by the "Prince of Chintz", Mario Buatta.
I treated myself to the Kenneth Jay Lane beauty on Rue La La. It reminded me of great nights at The Pink Elephant in Boca Grande, Florida.
I bought these Prada Baroque sunglasses. I have been eyeing them for a while. I lost my favorite Dior ones in LA. I needed a Spring pair.
I have always loved these Wayuu Tayu bags. I finally indulged. They are all handmade and give back to the community.
This is similar to the one I purchased here.
I bought these leopard lovelies too. I just love my Joe's ikat jeans too much. I needed another pair. They are close to the fine line between chic and tacky. I am use i can keep them on the chic side.
My sister in law and brother are making progress on their renovation Here is her beautiful Hadrian hung. The sofa is a rich orange coral, not red as the iPhone picture reads. This room is going to be dynamite when all is installed! I cannot wait for chairs, pillows and curtains this week.
At dinner Saturday night we had a great bottle of Kistler Chardonnay 2009. I LOVE Kistler.
We watched Magic City on Starz for the first time. It is set in Miami in 1959. The sets and costumes are pretty amazing. I am not sure I am in 100% for the series but lovely eye candy none the less. Check out the Vanity Fair review. It reminds me of a racier Mad Men.
An afternoon family bike ride to Barnes and Noble had delight in store!!!!
Oh, how I have missed you….I have the need to go read my new Domino.
Hope you have a great week ahead…
