Chairish the Accent Chair

Do you think an accent chair can anchor a room?

 I certainly do!

I was recently given the task of designing a room around an accent chair.  This Louis XV Armchair with Scalamandre Le Tigre is the perfect chair for me with a nod the traditional antiques and a wink to today with the chic silk velvet animal print that is purrfect in any decor to take it from “white to bright” or ” drab to fab”.

Many people start with neutral upholstery because it can be versatile in any environment.  That is not for me.  You start with bland and you will end up with bland.

Go big and go bold.

I have chosen a collection of integral pieces all from Chairish to create a stunning space that is sure to delight any color lover.

Here are my key elements to a chic room:

A piece of oversized abstract art

 a black lacquer piece

a touch of animal print

a dash of plush fur

some sparkle

a bit of tribal or ethnic pattern

mixing of antiques and vintage from different periods

plenty of lighting on dimmers
