Furnish for Good is a Charlotte nonprofit serves families coming out of poverty and homelessness by providing gently used high quality furniture and household items.  I suggest donating items to Furnish for Good for clients constantly.  

I feel stongly about their mission and love that it reuses and reduces waste. It is truly a win win!  I partnered with them below for a fun event, Furnished, that happens for the next 10 days.

Furnish for Good is a 501c3 nonprofit serving individuals and families transitioning out of homelessness, poverty, and other dire circumstances through the effective reuse of quality furniture and household donations.We aim to move beyond simply handing out donated items – we want to transform lives by providing hope, dignity, and a renewed sense of possibility for every person and child we serve.

As families move from transitional to permanent housing, they come to us with little or nothing. They struggle with impossible decisions – food or rent, heat or health care. For many we are the only resource for turning empty spaces into stable, dignified homes.

We believe the physical environment of a family’s home can have a profound impact on their daily life. It affects their self respect, their emotional investment in their home, and ultimately impacts their housing stability. We believe in the magnificence of our families. We want them to believe it too – every time they walk into their living room to relax on their sofa, when they lay their head down on a soft mattress at night, as they gather around their table to share a family meal. Trust us – it’s so much more than furniture.
