My friend Eric Hughes not only is in incredibly talented designer but he is a lovely and kind man. This is one of my favorite projects of his! Enjoy seeing this colorfully curated casa.

The living room’s sofa, in a Maharam stripe by Paul Smith, and love seat, in a Ralph Lauren denim, are from Classic Sofa of NY. The Willy Rizzo cocktail table and Italian bench, both 1960s, are from John Salibello. The faux-bamboo vintage brass stools, with seats in a Rogers & Goffigon wool blend, and the midcentury Marcello Fantoni lamp are from 1stdibs. The brass side table is from ABC Carpet & Home, the vintage folding chair covered in a Jerry Pair leather is from Harbinger, and the silk burlap wallpaper is by Ralph Lauren. In the sitting room, Barbarella Home upholstered in a Rogers & Goffigon wool blend. The blue midcentury Italian armchair is from Lucca Home and the vintage Guillerme et Chambron armchair, in a Manuel Canovas stripe, is from Hollywood at Home. A Roy Lichtenstein lithograph hangs above a Chesney’s mantel in Nero Bilbao marble., Wacha, perches on a vintage bamboo ottoman from
Cohen gets a boost from a flea-market stool in the kitchen, where the Christopher Peacockcabinets are painted in the company’s Black/Blue, and the counters are in end-grain walnut and semi-honed black granite. The range is by BlueStar, the hood is by Proline, the ceiling light is by the Urban Electric Co., and the wallpaper is Field of Daydreams by Flavor Paper.
The master bath’s tub is by Wooden Baths Ltd. The sinks, fixtures, and sconces are by Waterworks. The counter and window surround are in Statuary White marble. The wall and hexagonal floor tiles are by Artistic Tile.
The architect on the project, Gordon Kahn, designed a custom staircase in glass, walnut, and steel to link the two floors. The doors are painted in a custom green lacquer and the vintage French club chairs are from Blackman Cruz.
The powder room is wrapped in Flavor Paper’s Cherry Forever mylar wallpaper, the vanity is by Waterworks, and the vintage Milo Baughman mirror is from Chairish. The purple-resin bowling ball is from Mantiques Modern and the portrait of Diane von Furstenburg on a framed silk scarf is by Andy Warhol.
In the office, a vintage Eames Time-Life desk chair from Orange Furniture pulls up to a re-edition of a Bodil Kjaer desk from JF Chen. The 1960s Danish armchairs, re-covered in a Holland & Sherry houndstooth, are from Baxter & Liebchen. The walnut bookshelves are custom, the vintage Gaspare Asaro chandelier is from Le Lampade, and the rug is by Crate & Barrel.
The Ralph Lauren bed in the master bedroom is upholstered in a Maharam plaid by Paul Smith and dressed with Pratesi linens. The vintage leather bench is from Black Swan Antiques, the custom nightstands are by Blend Interiors, the vintage Pierre Giraudon green-resin lamps are from John Salibello, and the sconces are by RH Modern. The rug is from Crate & Barrel and the walls are covered in a Ralph Lauren Home wallpaper. The photograph over the bed is by Micheal McLaughlin, and the “Sweety” image to the right of the bed was taken by Cohen at a carnival outside Saint-Tropez.
A guest bedroom has a Consort bed covered in vintage Mexican blankets. A midcentury nightstand from Patrick Moultney is topped with a vintage lamp from the End of History. Rug, Lawson-Fenning. Wallpaper, Flavor Paper.
