I am off of the long awaited wondrous adventure to Marrakech, Morocco.

I have dreamed of this trip for oh so long and cannot wait to set foot in the mystic desert of my dreams. 

I wanted to share the cool riad where we will be staying for the first leg of our trip, Riad Ziri. 

Situated ten minutes from the centre of Marrakech, this delightful riad with its stunning views and  enchanting gardens filled with fragrant blossom,  olive trees and bougainvillea is a tranquil haven from the bustling souks and noise of the city.

Riad Ziri is part of the newly developed Al Maaden Golf Resort and is set inside a medina designed as a fortified village featuring traditional Moroccan architecture with its gardens and other riads. One of the few frontline properties in the medina Riad Ziri overlooks the internationally acclaimed 18 hole golf course with spectacular views of the Atlas mountains. Just 10 minutes from the centre of Marrakech and close to the airport. There is a 24 hr security service.

Designed by the internationally renowned architect Didier Lefort to the highest standards, the elegant Riad Ziri is contemporary in style but maintains many classical Moroccan features such as a central courtyard and roof terrace.

The enchanting garden filled with shady trees, exotic plants and large lounging area has its own private, heated swimming pool for the cooler months of the year. Built with a traditional roof terrace with its extensive covered sun deck, bar area and enclosed chill out area, Riad Ziri also features a dining area, living space and kitchen with breakfast bar.

With four spacious, individually styled double bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms, Riad Ziri is fully air conditioned and has every comfort. 

The packing has been a serious challenge.  I am supposed to take understated… that is really not my gig. I will be the tourist with bleach blonde hair in a neon caftan….very understated.
