Mountain Modern via Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles

I have long been a fan of designer Kay Douglass.  She creates modern masterpiece interiors that have a minimalist effect that I could never do but, LOVE.  Her use of one bold color in each space is also brilliant.

Rustic flourishes temper the clean lines of this mountain retreat designed by Kay Douglass. She procured many of the furnishings, including this dining table and mix of seating, from South of Market, her interiors showroom in Atlanta brimming with unique finds.

In the family room, a metal light fixture that Douglass purchased in Belgium holds court over streamlined furnishings from South of Market.

Homeowners Jennifer and Bonneau Ansley, shown on their back porch with daughter Blakely and son Beau, sought to create a modern yet cozy retreat. The outdoor sectional is from Kolo Collection.

A play on scale adds a dose of whimsy to the master bedroom and bath. “It almost feels like a hotel room, luxurious but still a bit campy, ” says Douglass. The rug is from CB2, while all other furnishings and accessories are from South of Market.

In Blakely’s bedroom, whimsical twig chairs and blue accents impart an “Alice in Wonderland vibe, ” says Douglass. The beds are draped with runners from Crate & Barrel. The framed fabric is Kay Douglass Interiors.

Beau catches some air in his made-for-play bedroom. Douglass tucked four twin beds into the sloped ceiling, leaving plenty of room for hang time. Coffee tables from Room & Board and light fixtures from Design Within Reach punctuate the open space.
