One Room Challenge Spring 2015: Week 2
I’m back with the plan for my One Room Challenge. (See WEEK 1 HERE)
Here are your hints:
Jonathan Adler did it.
Windsor Smith did it.
Ellen Degeneres does it.
Any Ideas?
Well, I have decided to turn my formal (and unused) living room into a Ping Pong Emporium.
CRAZY right?
Even my children were like WHAT? I have decided rather than walk past this room daily we are going to use it. I have posted before about my ping pong love HERE.
In order to create an esthetically pleasing space I have partnered with Jonathan Adler and Formica® Brand. I have decided upon the Formica® Laminate Jonathan Adler Collection for my tabletop. It is going to be chic beyond compare! Formica® Laminate has created an incredible collection of pattern with Jonathan and I am using the Orange Greek Key.
Here are a few rooms I have used for inspiration.
Jonathan Adler‘s home…
Windsor Smith‘s home…
Lisa Sherry‘s home…
Ellen Degeneres‘ home…
Royalton home…
Those are the ping pong inspiration but I am thinking black walls are in order to create the moody broody game room of my dreams.
Here are my favorite ideas:
BLACK glossy walls…yum!
And for the floor I am going neutral… yes leopard is a neutral. I am using the beautiful and durable Karastan Exotic Majestic Leopard. It is my neutral. It hides, sins, stains, dog hair and is chic beyond compare. I already have it on my stairs.
It is the BEST!
I am also happy to report we have the table up (yet everything else needs to be done). It is très cute and we have already spent more time in the living room in day 1 than the past 12 years total.
one note: I did not think through the 7:30 Sunday am ping pong while I am sleeping directly above this room. UGH!

I love this! What a great way to use a space and very, very chic at the same time. I’m so excited to watch the transformation!
Tim
I would love a ping pong table like that one!
Jana
I am so crazy excited for your ORC! I had no idea how many people had ping pong rooms! It’s going to be insanely good!
Sarah
Holly, you’re always so talented and love seeing your work featured in Charlotte magazines! That’s why I know this is going to be fab! Had to laugh because when we bought our home in Charlotte the living room was bar except for a ping pong table! It is now your traditional living room, but I also use it as an extension of my office for meetings. Can’t wait to see how you transform this space! Hoping we”ll have a chance to meet soon either in Charlotte or at TSC coming up at the end of the month. Sarah, Sarah Sofia Producitons
