One Room Challenge: Week 2 / The Plan for Bo’s Room

Buongiorno from Milan. I am hard at work spotting trends and being inspired in Italy. Work on Bo’s room has been slightly halted by my transcontinental hop.  I intend to go into overdrive next week.

Despite my travels, Bo’s room is coming together slowly but, surely!

I have decided to keep his basic color palate the same.  I am going slightly Rock and Roll with a nod to the UK with The Beatles and The Rolling Stones which happen to be a few of his favorite bands. A big gallery wall will be in the works too including all his favorite things.

OB-Bo's Gallery Wall

Headboard: Lulu Dk Color Wheel in Ocean – design to be simple with oversized nailheads. I chose this pattern because of it’s graphic nature and the mixture of blues that could be incorporated.

Walls: Thibaut Shang Extra Fine Sisal in Wedgewood Blue Navy grasscloth will add a level of sophistication and much needed texture to a plain jane room.

Ceiling Wallpaper: still deciding due to color but, front runner is Bain de Minuet

Curtains: Ralph Lauren Home LIGHTHOUSE STRIPE – WHITE/NAVY

Lighting: Courtesy of the generous Lamps Plus

Ceiling Light: Industrial Cage 7 1/2″ High Ceiling Light with Edison Bulb

Bedside Lamp: Cherry Tomato Burlap Drum Shade Apothecary Table Lamp

Rock and roll is right. Lucky boy. grasscloth and wallpapered ceiling?! Yes! Can’t wait to see this in all its glory.

  • April 10, 2014

I am blown away by this room. As a mom of two boys I have an affection for great design of kid rooms–ones that will grow with them but still maintain tons of style. This room will be incredible. That wallpaper on the ceiling? SO GOOD. I can’t wait to see this come together. Your newest fan, Abby M.
