Snack Chat with Nathan Turner

You bored with TV and Netflix this summer?

Have you finished Bloodlines, Game of Thrones and have nothing to watch?

Well, I was in the same boat until I realized Nathan Turner’s new show, Snack Chat, for The Design Network was released last week!  Woohoo!

I can promise you will be fully entertained by his magnetic and warm personality.

My dear friend and celebrity designer Nathan Turner is no stranger to the screen remember Million Dollar Decorators?

His casual-upscale approach to both design and entertaining, along with his witty spirit, practically has people lining up just to get a taste of his cosmopolitan lifestyle. In this new series that merges all of his favorite things — friends, food and home fashion — Nathan invites his designer besties into his kitchen to whip up family recipes from his personal collection and chat all things design. Keep a notepad handy and your appetite strong: you’ll want to recreate all of Nathan’s dishes and put his design advice into motion pronto.

Mary McDonald in the Kitchen

Hilarity ensues when Nathan Turner invites his design bestie, the renowned Mary McDonald, into the kitchen to prepare a banana berry trifle. Nathan puts Mary to work making a lemon syrup while he gathers the ladyfingers, mascarpone and fruit for the trifle. Together they talk design and whip up a decadent dessert worthy of any royal dinner party.

Jeffrey Alan Marks in the Kitchen

When Nathan Turner and designer Jeffrey Alan Marks team up in the kitchen, it’s a given that these two SoCal boys cook up a coastal meal inspired by the sunny beaches of their home state. All bets are off when Jeffrey throws a handful of extra jalapenos into the dish because he wants more green in the bowl. Spoken like a true designer!

Estee Stanley in the Kitchen

The multitalented Estee Stanley wears several hats as a fashion stylist, Hollywood interior designer and, most recently, restauranter, which might lead you (and host Nathan Turner) to believe that she’s also a skilled chef. Turns out, that’s not the case — and the witty Estee makes no bones about it. It’s up to Nathan to teach her the basics as they make a spaghetti bolognese from scratch. There’s a little smack talk and a lot of design talk thrown in the mix. There’s never a dull moment in this kitchen!

Martyn Lawrence Bullard in the Kitchen

Martyn Lawrence Bullard is no stranger to the world of design. A celebrity designer with numerous awards, Martyn loves to host lavish parties and entertain guests. But he draws the line at cooking, which he says is “a disaster” if he’s in the kitchen. As an homage to Martyn’s British roots, Nathan Turner decides it only fitting to teach him how to make a sticky toffee pudding, a classic English dessert.

Lulu DK in the Kitchen

When artist, fabric designer and all around creative genius Lulu DK steps into the kitchen with Nathan Turner, they waste no time getting down to business. This pair cooks up a piping hot spaghetti alle vongole, a beautifully simple Italian dish of pasta and fresh clams. Things get interesting when Lulu proposes that they each swallow an Italian vitamin — a whole clove of garlic.
