Style Spotters Day 1 at High Point Market

What a great day!

I picked the first 8 of 25 items for my High Point Market Style Spotter picks. They are whimsical, unusual and striking.

It was funny to chat with other Style Spotters who were overwhelmed with the number of picks…I was thinking this was not enough. I guess I do pick 100 items each week for my Retail Therapy and Weekend Wants.  I am sticking with my “more is more” philosophy.

Happy Weekend!

Le Mains Chair from Noir Furniture in carved teak is a whimsical spot to rest. The design is a nod to iconic hand chair circa 1970s by Pedro Friedeberg, the famous Mexican surrealist, painter, sculptor and designer maestro.

The Sunflower Table by Jamie Durie for McGuire Furniture is a ray of sunshine. This happy rattan piece is joyful and light while adding a look to the past.

The Nizwa Cabinet by Bethan Gray for E.J. Victor is an artistic feat. This chest was inspired by Nizwa fort in Oman. It is created by hand from Italian birdseye maple and solid nickel. Each piece on the ombre cabinet fronts are hand colored and applied taking over 3 days to create just one door.. Bethan Gray was inspired by graphic pattern and this cultural narrative exploring her family nomadic roots.

The Lotus Light pendant from Indo Puri is woven rattan core in layers creating a lovely flower like shape. They come in 5 various sizes and natural or dark grey finish. These organic wicker pendant lights are magical.

The Moreau Collection from Julian Chichester is a stunner. A Jean Royere inspired cabinet from the 1940’s. The Smoked Oak frame sits on a Brass ledge and feet. Each door has a contrasting vellum filled cut outs with a curvy frame.

The Alberto Medium Chandelier by Julie Neill Designs for Visual Comfort in white plaster is a showstopper! This modern classic is a fit in traditional to modern homes.

The Cockatoo Chair from The Florence Broadhurst Collection at Selamat Designs is a playful nod to Florence’s iconic Cockatoo Wallpaper. The lacquered bamboo frame and caned sides complete this whimsical classic.

The Directional vintage 2 piece split sectional attributed to Harvey Prober is a modern day classic with its angular lines from Hudson Mercantile at 214 Modern Vintage. The vintage Jack Lenor Larsen printed velvet in in pristine condition ready for the home of any mid century collector.
