Wallpaper Wednesday: Renaissance Herbier by Iksel for Schumacher
If your walls have been begging for a little culture, history, and botanical drama, allow me to introduce Renaissance Herbier by Iksel Decorative Arts for Schumacher. This stunning scenic wallpaper transforms a 16th-century herbier into a work of art for the modern home.
Inspired by an Indian Renaissance herbier dating to the early 1500s, each of the 36 plants was repainted in Iksel’s studio, placed on a faux parchment ground, framed, and assembled into this richly layered panoramic design. The result feels like stepping inside an antique botanical manuscript.
I love its collected, scholarly charm. Equal parts grand library, curiosity cabinet, and garden fantasy, it creates the kind of room that makes guests stop and ask, “Where did you find that wallpaper?”
Available in five heights and distributed exclusively by Schumacher in the United States and Canada, Renaissance Herbier proves that sometimes the most beautiful designs are the ones with centuries of history behind them.
It is so beautiful in situ…
