Wanderlust Wednesday: Martha Angus’s Palm Springs Getaway

Palm Springs is another spot I am planning on checking off my bucket list in the near future.

When I came across this modern beauty in Palm Springs I became exponentially more excited to explore this hamlet of architecture, art and mid century preservation.

Designer Martha Angus’s Palm Springs Getaway via Cottages & Gardens is the perfect nod to mod.

Eight-foot-high walls provide privacy for the home’s outdoor space, which includes a 50-foot pool designed by Jim Jennings and built by David Ames Pools. Landscape design is by Elizabeth Everdell.

Designed by architect Jim Jennings and manufactured by Blue Sky Building, this 2, 800-square-foot home is crafted from a series of prefabricated components that were assembled in a matter of hours.

Chubby chairs and table through Room & Board create a sculptural space for poolside lounging.

Custom wall art by Angus sets the stage in the entry across from a Pluto sculpture found by the designer at an abandoned carousel in France.

In the living room, slip-covered RH sofas flank a vintage orange coffee table purchased at Christopher AnthonyWarren Platner chairs from Bourgeois Bohème add a pop of blue. Custom-designed Copa Cabana rug was produced by Mark Nelson. Art above the sofa is by Cy Twombly.

An Arne Jacobsen Swan chair holds pride of place in the den, where John Baldessari’s The Studio hangs above the desk. A coffee table in the style of Sol Lewitt is from Wright Auction House.

In the kitchen,  Alexander Begge Casalino dining chairs surround a Warren Platner table.

A Hello Kitty photo by Chris Flach strikes a playful note in the guest casita bathroom.

In the casita bedroom, a pink CB2 sofa is paired with a white West Elm table. Hanging seat is from Serena & Lily.
