Wanderlust Wednesday: Whitehall of Camden, Maine

Last week I shared the exciting news that my husband and I will be going on a New England tour this summer. Lark Hotels has helped me plan the perfect trip with stops at many of their chic boutique hotels. The first stop I shared last week in Kennebunkport with the Captain Fairfield Inn.

The next stop will be Camden, Maine and Whitehall

Established in 1901 and redefined in 2015, Whitehall is a Camden Maine hotel with a brand new lease on life. With 36 rooms and suites, rambling porches, a full service restaurant and bar, and places to relax and reflect, you’ll never have to leave our grounds to have the perfect getaway to the Maine coast.

If you do decide to meander out our front door, the heart of the village is just a 10 minute stroll away. Forgo the car and walk to quaint shops and world-class restaurants. Gaze at Maine’s (and possibly New England’s!) most picturesque harbor,  relax to the sounds of waves, or stroll up the gentle cliffs of Mount Battie and be beguiled by the view.

Dinner is served six nights a week in the Pig + Poet dining room, or you may choose to enjoy the outdoor patio with one of our many seasonally inspired cocktails.

Our Camden Maine Hotel’s interior design is a key part of our brand — Maine’s Summer Place.

With the local motto “where the mountains meet the sea” in mind, Boston-based Rachel Reider Interiors has incorporated natural elements into the interiors such as grasscloth, weathered woods, aged metals, barn board and rope that pay homage to Whitehall’s location between Mount Battie and Penobscot Bay. Artwork from Art Collector Maine — created by native Mainers and about this great state — will rotate throughout the hotel.

Stunning public spaces…

The completely renovated and rejuvenated Whitehall is an ideal spring, summer, and early fall destination for those in search of an artisanal, authentic Maine experience. The property boasts Angela Adams carpets and Sister Parish fabrics. Custom copper lighting by Portland, Maine-based Inspired Wire Studio adorns the ceiling of Pig + Poet.
