Big News!!!! My Joss and Main Curated Sale…

I HAVE EXCITING NEWS!   I will be hosting a Joss & Main Curated Sale starting Wednesday Night at 9pm ET. I am so excited to share my picks from Joss & Main that directly correlate with my personal design style.  The whole process was terrific. I worked closely with the wonderful staff to handpick items based on my home, color choices, and style.  We honed the 150+ items I chose down to 100 items which I would be happy to own at their terrific prices.  Here is a little peak at the amazing finds you will find once...

Tory Burch’s Tibetan Boar Tusk and such…

Today I hopped over to The Tory Blog to see what the style maven was up to and to my delight is Bohemian Style.  I am over the moon to see the one and only in the very same Tibetan Boar Tusk necklace I had purchased at Metrolina Antiques and Collectibles Show over the weekend. It is really the very same. I just popped mine on a long chain as I head out the door to go to the Scout launch party.  This is my FAB tusk.  This very one is available one on ETSY. Join Tory and me to be oh so chic…. To make matters even more...

I will always love Lilly Pulitzer

I will always love Lilly Pulitzer

“Anything is possible with sunshine and a little pink.” – RIP Lilly Pulitzer (1931-2013) Today the world lost the design legend Lilly Pulitzer. This colorful lady will always remind me of my happy childhood with memories of each occasion in her signature prints. I will always treasure the few minutes I shared a brief conversation with a nice lady while shopping at C. Orrico in Palm Beach in early 90's. We chatted about the amazing new Lilly designs that had been reintroduced and were exclusive to C. Orrico. She asked...

Metrolina Antique Expo Madness

It was a busy Saturday! We hit the Metrolina Expo Antiques Spring Spectacular. My children and the husbands recent addiction to American Pickers on The History Channel made them want to come along. It was at times challenging as they looked at absolute crap but, we all had a great day.  Here are a few highlights.  This set of antique antler furniture was AMAZING with its inlaid stones and extensive provenance.  I fell hard for these sterling over brass huge dragon candlesticks. Going back to get them in the am. They were...

Good Vibes with JADEtribe’s Kimberly Hartman

JADEtribe is a brand I recently discovered and will become a summer staple for me.  I adore this look for it's boho gypset vibe. The bags and accessories exude a relaxed international glamour for the gal just off the beach in Ibiza to the world traveler in a remote part of India on a personal pilgrimage. If that is not already enough the lady behind the brand, Kimberly Hartman, has a huge heart to help those who produce the items.  I cannot get enough of the philanthropic mission that is not only so beautiful but, grateful and...

Scout is OUT!

The Scout Guide, Vol 2 is out Charlotte peeps. They can be found all over town or online. Feel free to pop in The English Room to grab one if you would like. It is full of the best of Charlotte and happens to be in my favorite colors too.  Here is my page. What do ya think? I had intended to do the formal posing thing but, I am horribly uncomfortable in front of the camera. It could be an opposite reaction to my mothers oddly perfect photogenic ability. She can smile a 1000 watt smile if she gets a vibe of a camera in a 2 mile radius....

Southern Artist Spotlight: Teil Duncan

Finding and highlighting artists that I like is a favorite thing to do.  Last week people were raving about the Lulie Wallace post for The Southern C and much attention was focused on one of her favorites artists that she kindly introduced us to, Teil Duncan. I am crazy for her nudes series.  I decided this can be like the "SIX Degrees of Separation" for artists. I hope to keep the game of tag going…     Teil Duncan Charleston, S.C..  What is your training?    I got my Bachelors...

The Welcoming House and the fabulous party…

The Welcoming House was released last week by Rizzoli.  I could not wait to get my paws on this book by two lovely Charlotte designers, Jane Schwab and Cindy Smith. These talented ladies have been in the business for over 30 years with a charming design shop Circa Interiors. It is one of the best Charlotte has to offer.   The book does not disappoint as it walks you through many client's homes and the entire process of design.  There is a strong emphasis on elegant entertaining. They also do the very loveliest guest rooms....

A la Montagne with Gray Malin Photography

As we head to Aspen to ski I am reminded of the work of the talented Gray Malin. (TOP OF ASPEN MOUNTAIN)   I am a huge fan of the photography of Gray Malin that captures the essence of resort areas with a fantastical aerial views.  "Shooting from doorless helicopters, this series has been photographed around the world from the U.S. to Brazil to Australia. From above, a simple beach or pool becomes a blank canvas that allows me to start seeing the world as art. People and objects become patterns creating repetition,...
