KBIS 2015 Finds: The Formica® Laminate Jonathan Adler Collection

I had such fun on BlogTour Vegas this week but I must tell you I am wiped out….headed home on the red eye to hit the ground running.  I had a great surprise running into Jonathan Adler at KBIS 2015. We had a lovely chat sharing mutual sneaker live and recounting our 1st meeting in the Paris fleas a while back. I was so surprised he remembered me immediately and recalled right were we had met.  This man is a keeper!

I am mad for his new laminate line for Formica. Swoon!

Formica Corporation, the inventor of laminate, introduces The Formica® Laminate Jonathan Adler Collection: nine bold new color and pattern combinations designed to make countertops pop and surfaces shine.

The collection is the combination of Formica Corporation’s unmatched design flexibility and performance with Adler’s signature aesthetic of irreverent luxury. The new color and pattern combinations are perfect for countertops, backsplashes, vanities, cabinets and more.

“Whether it’s a kitchen, a laundry room or a powder room,  designing a space in your home is an incredibly personal experience, ” said Amy Gath, vice president of marketing at Formica Corporation. “Our new collection helps homeowners bring their unique personality into their spaces — from the bold, the glamorous, the classic or the chic — while maintaining the versatility and durability they expect from Formica® Brand Laminate.”

Each new Formica® Laminate style in the collection represents a bold update of a classic material:

  • Lacquered Linen, inspired by mid-century modern furniture, is available in four colors — green, orange, charcoal and creme. It features a glossy finish for a new spin on a classic texture.
  • Malachite, inspired by precious stones and patterns of the 60s and 70s, is available in crisp blue and a subtle charcoal, both with a glossy finish.
  • Greek Key, a timeless motif made modern with bold color and scale, is available tone-on-tone with a matte finish in orange, blue and charcoal.

“Formica® Brand laminates are iconic and it has been a dream to be able to include some of my favorite patterns, colors, and motifs in the collection. The uses for laminate are limitless; I can’t wait to use the styles from my collection in my stores and design projects – I want to laminate everything in my life with the new line, ” said Jonathan Adler

The Formica® Laminate Jonathan Adler Collection will be available in spring 2015 at Lowe’s stores and other kitchen & bath dealers nationwide. To view the complete collection, visit www.formica.com/adler.

Greek Key

The Greek Key design is Jonathan’s unique take on a classic motif. Crisp and stylish, the pattern was updated with bold matte colors and an increase in scale.

Greek Key works best in kitchens with clean lines and brings an upscale pop of color to contemporary spaces. Add some fun to functional spots by using Greek Key in your laundry room or mudroom.

Malachite

A modern update on classic patterns from the ’60s and ’70s makes Malachite a chic, unique and daring design.

Malachite thrives in bold spaces. Make it the focal point of your kitchen or utilize it behind the scenes in a powder room. Wherever it ends up, it’s sure to be a conversation starter.

Lacquered Linen

Inspired by mid-century modern furniture, the Lacquered Linen pattern sports a glossy finish to create a new spin on a classic texture.

Complementing Lacquered Linen with crème tones and dark woods like walnut makes for a warm, inviting kitchen. For a unique twist, go vertical with Lacquered Linen on your cabinets or backsplash.

How could he not remember you?! I LOVE that blue malachite in the bathroom.

He’s my style icon, as I relayed. Jealous that you had the one on one with him; lucky you! That was worth the trip hands down!
