Art Love: Jason Kowalski
There is nothing I love more than a little Western nostalgia with a painterly punch, and Jason Kowalski has me completely hooked.
Spotted at LewAllen Galleries, his work captures the quiet poetry of the American roadside. Think sun-faded motels, vintage signage, and those beautifully worn places that feel like they have lived a thousand lives. It is storytelling through atmosphere, and I am here for it.
What draws me in most is the layering. His surfaces feel rich and storied, almost like fragments of memory built up over time. There is a softness to the edges paired with a strength in composition that makes each piece feel both nostalgic and elevated.
The palette leans into that perfectly dusty, sunbaked range I cannot resist, grounded yet warm with moments that glow. It feels like golden hour stretched across a canvas.
Naturally, the Western spirit speaks to my soul. There is a sense of romance and resilience in these scenes that feels both timeless and incredibly chic. It is rugged refinement at its best.
These are the pieces that anchor a room and start a conversation. Collected, layered, and full of soul.
Consider me completely obsessed.
