My Night with The Novogratz

The Novogratz define cool. This southern born duo are downtown New Yorkers with style for miles. I had the pleasure of meeting and chatting Cortney and Robert Novogratz last night at The Mint Museum lecture series.  These self taught designers who are the parents of seven are so knowledgeable and beyond personable.  Their chic style can be seen through all types of media including 2 books, numerous magazines and a hit TV show on HGTV.

Even their logo is fab. They are brand geniuses says The New York Times.  Love the colors…

You must get the new book, Home by Novogratz.  I bought a few last night and it is full of bold ideas and tips to incorporate into your home.

Here a picture of the brood…

And a more recent one featuring the "Family" rug designed by them for CB2.

Downtown Chic, their first book, is a staple in any good design library.  It shows the trait of mixing high and low which to Novogratz have mastered like no others.

The vacation home they built in Brazil is DIVINE.

The Brazil house was dubbed "World's Coolest Rental" in Travel and Leisure magazine.  Sign me up can you say #springbreak?

This exterior of their previous NYC house featured so many great elements such as glass balconies and…

.

A rooftop basketball court. The BOMB!

These people are creative in a thinking out of the box way they we could all use more of.

Their country house in Great Barrington, Mass has wonderful bold yellow shutters that pop on the traditional New England style home.  The sunken trampoline is the best idea ever.  Their children as such a strong focus in their design but still uphold the design esthetic without sacrificing style while making it family friendly.

This bedroom is a favorite of mine…it could be the color.

The beautiful Cortney and handsome Bob in their HGTV show…

The Novogratz brand is growing a warp speed.  A paint collection for Stark is one of the many ventures on their plate.

A recent venture with Soundfreaq has me falling for a certain speaker.

Snakeskin…come to Mama I say. (#christmaslist)

I was inspired and impressed by this couple and have developed even more a design crush on them. Who knew that was even possible?  More importantly these people are wonderful parents that are passionate about exposing their children to the world, the arts and music.  They do massive amounts of charitable work that is not in the spotlight. Bravo Novogratz and I hope our paths cross again soon.

After the lecture, my friend in the chic Pucci head scarf and I had drinks and a cheese plate at Halcyon.  It was delish as always.  We noticed Curtis Stone, chef extraordinaire, was seated behind us…He too was kind and friendly so I snapped a shot.

Happy weekend all!
