Textile Tuesday: Gigi by Katie Ridder
If there is one thing I can never resist, it’s a fabric with personality. Enter Gigi by Katie Ridder.
This hand-printed Belgian linen is everything I love about Katie’s work: graphic, playful, colorful, and just a little bit unexpected. At first glance, Gigi reads as a charming geometric, but the beauty is in the details. The petite-scale pattern creates incredible movement while still functioning almost like a solid, making it endlessly versatile for upholstery, drapery, pillows, and lampshades.
Printed on luxurious 100% Belgian linen, Gigi proves that small-scale patterns can make just as much impact as their larger counterparts. I especially love how it layers effortlessly with florals, stripes, and bold prints, which makes it a maximalist’s dream fabric.
Like so many of Katie Ridder’s designs, Gigi feels timeless and fresh all at once. It has that magical ability to bring color, charm, and a touch of whimsy to a room without overwhelming the space. And for those of us who firmly believe there is no such thing as too much pattern, that’s a very good thing.
This one is officially going into my “must use soon” file.
I could see using it with these Katie Ridder textiles too.
