Wallpaper Wednesday: Pierre Frey’s Canaima

I can’t resist a good scenic wallpaper.

Pierre Frey’s Canaima is my recent crush.

An exotic scene by Carlos Mota where butterflies, colorful birds and flamingos flit between palms and orange trees. A soft, realistic masterpiece, hand painted and printed on a vinyl with raw silk effect, offering character and relief.

Carlos Mota is a key figure in the design community in the United States. Interior and product designer, artistic director or stylist for the biggest decoration publications, he is also the author of several books on flowers and colours, topics which he is extremely passionate about. For his first collaboration with Maison Pierre Frey, he was inspired by the floral and vegetal universe of Venezuela’s Canaïma Park, one of the most beautiful and pristine jungles in the world. He created a panoramic wallpaper named CANAÏMA as a true testament to his culture and passions. Conceived as a contemporary Chinoiserie, CANAÏMA is a tribute to naive art, an ode to bright colours and lush nature…
