Southern Artist Spotlight Series: Christina Baker

Christina Baker Murfeesboro, Tennessee Basket of Kisses What is your training?   I'm self taught. I have always been very drawn to really simple and raw scenes in life. Reflections in water puddles, weeds growing through an old car sort of things. What is your...

Preview of Friday Night Fun at Hidell Brooks Gallery

In Public series by  Scott Duce. What a cool grouping, right? I had the pleasure of a preview of the Friday night opening of Hidell Brooks Gallery yesterday. It is not to be missed. Go get inspired by the this gallery and the knowledgeable ladies behind it. More work of Scott Duce The colorful abstract work of Charles Walker livens up any interior. Grouped together or alone these bold works can hold a wall. David Kroll is a master at his talent. Selena Beaudry's collages are awe inspiring hung together… Scott Upton is a new abstract artist to the gallery. I love this bold piece. Head over this weekend if you are in Charlotte...

Happy 6th Birthday Gigi featuring Donald Roller Wilson

Via Happy 6th Birthday to my youngest child, Gigi.  She is adorable, creative, strong willed, opinionated, precious, colorful and a bit naughty just like the work of artist, Donald Roller Wilson.  I have had a long standing love affair with his work since 1991 when I saw a few pieces in a gallery in Palm Beach, Florida. He is an old masters style painter with a healthy dose of insanity.  I bought his book and was hooked.  The exquisite painting style combined with the silly and crazy characters doing totally inappropriate things is just a fabulous juxtaposition. They will always remind me of Gigi and her beauty mixed with her often inappropriate...
