Retail Therapy & Weekend Wants: Beachside Browsing
I am at the beach for a fun and fabulous wedding weekend celebrating a dear horse friend, and we are so happy to toast her! We kicked things off with a girls’ carriage ride downtown, complete with a historical tour from another horse friend and her precious steed, Jake. At a whopping 2,500 pounds, he is quite the handsome tour companion!
The gift guides are coming along beautifully, but all this shopping for others has me needing a little personal retail therapy. Gifting is my love language, but apparently I speak fluent “add to cart” for myself, too.
Here is what I am currently convinced I cannot live without, along with a few things I will simply be dreaming about.
I treated myself to THIS perfume vesta case necklace from the new HART x Julia Berolzheimer collaboration. Isn’t it dreamy?
Jacket required.
My outerwear obsession continues with THIS fringed MOTHER Ranger jacket, which speaks directly to my western-loving heart, and THIS Queens of Archive Bardot coat for a little statement-coat drama. Boden’s bold oversized argyle wool coat is serving wearable pattern play, while Zara’s embroidered jacket with frog fastenings has such lovely decorative detail. Add the Cinq à Sept Almina coat and the Barbour x FARM Rio Venosa wax jacket, and my coat closet officially needs an intervention.
Bag me.
The Cult Gaia Yusra clutch is on my evening-bag wish list, while THIS Mark Cross leather top-handle bag brings a little classic polish. Maria La Rosa’s Bandana Game bag scratches my itch for something playful, and Tory Burch’s small Pierced embellished shoulder bag has the hardware detail to make a simple outfit feel special.
Sweater weather.
Kujten’s Cody bandana cardigan has that western wink I can never resist. For a bigger pattern moment, the Hayley Menzies Nomadic Tapestry cardigan is calling my name. These are the layers I want to build an entire outfit around.
Sparkle and a little whimsy.
J.Crew’s cashmere crewneck with an embellished neckline delivers built-in sparkle. A sweater that handles its own accessorizing? Yes, please. I am equally smitten with Loeffler Randall’s grey cashmere swan sweater, complete with a cream swan motif. Apparently my animal obsession extends well beyond horses and dogs.
Shoe me the way.
Loeffler Randall’s Loretta velvet platform sandals have party season written all over them. For everyday temptation, there are THESE studded Free People mules and THESE Tony Bianco Gatsby flats in black Anguille. Then there are Gabriela Hearst’s Cassidy cowboy ankle boots. These gorgeous leather beauties are out of my budget, but my imaginary wardrobe has already welcomed them home.
Mad for plaid.
Free People’s Prism Valley ruffle midi skirt combines plaid with a little swish. I am picturing it with a sweater and cowboy boots, naturally.
Party dress problems.
Taller Marmo’s Firefly belted, draped sequined tulle gown is pure entrance-making drama. The Dress the Population Anitza long-sleeve sequin mermaid gown brings even more shimmer, while THIS Mac Duggal one-shoulder metallic burnout velvet gown has that rich texture I love for holiday evenings. Surely one of these deserves a date on the calendar.
Unearthed at Wolf & Badger.
I fell down a fabulous Wolf & Badger rabbit hole and emerged with THIS crystal-embellished velvet midi dress, THIS black sequin showstopper, and THIS Swinton sequin dress. Clearly, subtlety was never the assignment. I also love THIS Yumi black velvet bow tunic with an embellished neckline for a festive dinner out. Bring on the invitations!
